As many of you are completely unaware of I work for a language company. Right now a coworker is working on a language filter and needs examples of swear words that contain the word “shit” but don’t start with it. Like bullshit, dogshit, batshit, etc. Can any of you wise Oppos come up with more? I think we have the animal shits covered as well as the shit tons and loads.

Good, but it starts with “shit” so doesn’t meet the requirements (she can search for stuff that starts with shit). Thanks, though!

Shit ton we got, both metric and imperial. I wasn’t sure if fuckshit was common but it’s in the urban dictionary so I’m passing it along!

Got it, along with bat, bull, dog, etc. We also had a discussion wondering why bullshit has it’s own meaning but cow shit is just shit from a cow. That’s what my Slack channel is full of today, shit.

Did you get cheapshit, jackshit, chickenshit and bullshit? Those are very important in the shit spectrum.

Jackshit, chickenshit and bullshit we got. I’m not sure on the cheapshit so I’ll pass that one along. Thanks!

I hope my employer doesn’t use this language filter. I’m up shit creek if so.

Don’t worry, it’s for a little known software company that rhymes with Sicromoft.

So I’ll be okay as long as I use DoogleGocs.

Don’t forget the phrases too. Full of shit, crock of shit, dumb as shit. piece of shit, shit the bed...

As long as “shit” is its own word or the word starts with “shit” she can search for the word or phrase, but when its contained within the word it’s harder to do.

Question for my untrained self. Assuming this is a computer program, can’t you just run a for loop or similar through every word, and block the word when it finds the correct connections of letters? Or does this take too long/kill run times?
I bombed computer science so this could be wrong but I am intrigued.

I’m not even sure what she searches when coming up with the terms. I think the issue is that she’s searching through all known English (for the current project) words including current and obsolete slang (including US, UK, AUS, Canada, etc.) so it’s not as simple as a straight word search through a dictionary
